QUALIFICATIONS:

We recruit experienced transcriptionists who can work in our Pasadena, California office. We require no less than three years' transcription experience, or court reporting or voice writing students that can produce a minimum of 160 words per minute via the steno machine or voice writing technology. Keyboard typists are required to type a minimum of 60 words per minute.

Our transcriptionists must also possess excellent English grammar skills, advanced punctuation skills, superior spelling skills, must have an "ear" for transcription, must be computer literate, proficient in Word, have the ability to search and replace in a document, copy and paste, cut and paste, retrieve a "lost" document, underline, bold, indent, indent and quote, and research names and/or terms.

We have a rigorous testing and interview process. During the initial interview process, applicants will be required to take an English grammar and punctuation test. We follow the punctuation guidelines as outlined in the Gregg Reference Manual.

Due to the fast turnaround times we offer our law enforcement clients, especially for in-custody reports, all transcriptionists' production standards should be, at maximum, at a 4:1 ratio for single voice. This means that if a law enforcement report is five (5) minutes in length, the maximum transcription and proofreading time should be 20 minutes.

If you are interested in a job as a law enforcement transcriptionist or law enforcement transcription proofreader and you meet the minimum qualifications as outlined above, please apply as soon as possible for consideration.
